It all began with sovereignty.
Maison Oni was born from a deep devotion to create a home for a radical third space — an intersection of art, culture, and identity could coexist without compromise. Founded by an Afro-Indigenous queer artist, Aala Oni has spent years navigating worlds that weren’t built with us in mind — from the quiet rigor of fine art galleries to the polished halls of corporate leadership. In each space, she carried the same question: what would it look like to build something that truly holds us?
Maison Oni is her answer to that question. It’s more than a creative studio — it’s a living practice in self-determination, rooted in community and bound by intentionality. Through original artwork, capsule collections, and ethical collaborations, we tell stories that honor the power of becoming — of showing up fully, audaciously, and without apology.
But artistry alone isn’t enough. Too often, brilliance goes unseen because the systems built to sustain a collective were never meant for us. That’s why Maison Oni strives to build pathways — through funding access, partnerships, and creative consulting that center the success of QTBIPOC artists and visionaries. We’re not just creating art; we are creating infrastructure for perpetual liberation and creative sovereignty.
Maison Oni is both a portal and blueprint: a reflection of who we are, and a vision of what’s possible when creativity and equity move as one. Here, we passionately believe that every act of expression is an declaration of liberation — and that together, we can reshape and reclaim the creative world into one that truly elevates and fills all of us.
